From the creators of the hugely popular Van Gogh Alive tour, Grande Experiences and Andrew Kay present Monet in Paris, a multi-sensory experience showcasing the works of Claude Monet and his contemporaries in an event that will take visitors through 19th-century Paris and the French countryside
Set to make its global debut in Brisbane on 7th June for a limited season, Monet in Paris will be housed in the impressive Le Grand Palais, a super-scale purpose-built marquee featuring six break-out spaces, bars, a café, and a gift shop.
Designed by Australian theatre designer Anna Cordingley, this custom-designed space is one of the largest portable exhibition buildings in the world.
The experience uses state-of-the-art SENSORY4™ technology to create an immersive experience for visitors. Huge crystal-clear images of some of the world’s most famous Impressionist works will be projected on the walls of the Grand Palais, while a powerful classical score plays in the background.
Visitors will feel like they are dancing with Degas’ ballerinas or walking through Monet’s waterlilies as they lose themselves in the paintings’ vibrant colours and intricate details.
In addition to the impressive technology used to create the experience, the Grand Palais is built with energy efficiency in mind. The walls are made from insulated sandwich panels, which help to reduce heat loss and lower energy consumption for heating and cooling. The roof is made from a specially coated PVC material that prevents heat from passing through and keeps the structure cool.
“We are absolutely thrilled to premiere Monet in Paris in Brisbane in June. This very new and unique experience will captivate and enthral audiences young and old as we enjoy many of the colourful works of art from the French Masters of the 19th-century, combined with a wonderful musical score and special aromas permeating throughout the venue,” said Bruce Peterson, Founder & CEO of Grande Experiences.
Andrew Kay, the producer of Monet in Paris, expressed his excitement about bringing the experience to Brisbane after the success of the Van Gogh Alive tour.
“Audiences loved Van Gogh Alive, and we look forward to opening the doors of our spectacular new venue, Le Grand Palais, in June and welcoming them to the wonderful world of Monet In Paris.”
Monet in Paris is a family-friendly event that promises to transport visitors to the heart of Impressionism.
