DISCOVER A WORLD OF GENIUS IN THE HEART OF ROME
It is a testament to our Italian artisans that they have deciphered and constructed more than 120 of Leonardo’s designs and, where feasible, using materials and techniques from 15th Century Italy.

Owned and operated by Grande Experiences, Museo Leonardo da Vinci is a historical museum in the heart of Rome, which brings to life Leonardo’s genius as an inventor, artist, scientist, anatomist, engineer and architect.
Museo Leonardo da Vinci contains faithfully crafted machine inventions previously seen in the successful touring experience, Da Vinci – The Genius. These superb interpretations of Leonardo’s designs can now be seen on permanent display. Museo Leonardo da Vinci carries the endorsement of Citta di Venezia, Comune di Roma & Comune di Firenze.
Discover interactive and life-size machines crafted by Italian artisans from Leonardo’s codices, studies of his most famous Renaissance art, anatomical sketches, multimedia touchscreens and high-definition animations of his most famous works: The Last Supper, the Vitruvian Man and the Sforza horse sculpture.
Santa Maria is a Head Augustinian Church, located at the northern gates of the historic walled city. Besides being a pilgrimage site for the Knights Templar, the church also marks the site of the Holy Inquisition and rumors exist that Emperor Nero’s tomb may be buried deep below.
Grande Experiences has partnered with skilled Italian artisans to faithfully reproduce many of Leonardo’s magnificent inventions to scale. Besides their skill as craftsmen, the artisans possess a unique set of talents; they are able to read and interpret old Florentine dialect and decipher Leonardo da Vinci’s shorthand and his mirror writing.
They also have a working knowledge of his intricate drawings and the cryptic methods he used to transcribe them.
Armed with this knowledge, the Italian artisans scoured over 6,000 pages of codices looking for clues to construct Leonardo’s designs. As if not arduous enough, Leonardo also protected his designs with his own form of patent – a maze of deliberate mistakes, misleading information, part answers and elements central to the concept hidden elsewhere in his notes.
It is a testament to the artisans that they have deciphered and constructed more than 120 of Leonardo’s designs, using materials and techniques from 15th Century Italy.
